One of the victims involved in a stabbing at a Traverse City area Walmart says he thought he was going to die in the July 26 attack. In an interview with NBC News released Monday, Aaron Boudot, recalled how the attack unfolded and what went through his mind once he was stabbed.

“I lost three liters of blood in definitely less than 40 seconds,” Boudot, said. “I wasn’t going to last long. I said my goodbyes.”

Luckily for the 41-year-old Boudot, another shopper in the store acted quickly, applying a tourniquet “in exactly the right place,” allowing Boudot to be transported to the hospital where a vascular surgeon saved his life.

Although he was stabbed five times in the ordeal, Boudot is now on the path to recovery. Boudot is one of 11 people who were stabbed by the suspect, identified
