This year visitors will have five additional nights to enjoy Night of 1,000 Jack-o’-Lanterns, Chicago Botanic Garden’s popular, family-friendly Halloween celebration marking its 10th year in October.

Demand prompted the garden’s expansion of the event featuring more than 1,000 hand-carved, LED-lit pumpkins, some as large as 150 pounds.

Night of 1,000 Jack-o’-Lanterns gives people a unique opportunity to stroll through the garden at night, said Jodi Zombolo, associate vice president for visitor events and programs in a prepared statement.
