Cash Reggi

A 13-year-old Northfield boy was seriously injured after crashing his bike, according to a fundraiser set up to support his family.

On Monday, Aug. 11, Cash Reggi was riding his E-bike to meet his sister at Linwood Park. While there he turned onto a bike path going too fast, causing him to crash, throwing him face first onto the pavement, Rebecca Sharra, who organized the fundraiser said.

Reggi broke his jaw in three places, lost teeth, had multiple lacerations that requited numerous stitches, and has endless scrapes and bruises.

He recently underwent surgery at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for his broken jaw, and his jaw must be wired shut for two to four weeks. After his jaw heals, he will have dental work and teeth replacement.

"Cash has a long road to recovery ahead. But for those who know him, Cash is one of the most determined & resilient kids you will ever meet," Sharra wrote. "He’s motivated to heal from this as quickly as possible so he can get back onto the ice to do what he loves most, to rejoin his AC Sharks ice hockey team."

The fundraiser will go toward helping his family with travel costs, missed wages, dental expenses and medical bills.

As of Tuesday, Aug. 19, more than $5,000 has been raised.
