Sophie Cunningham's season-ending knee injury left a void for an experienced ballhandler and the Fever signed veteran Shey Peddy to fill that hole.

In six WNBA seasons, Peddy averaged 5.9 points, 2.3 assists and 2.4 rebounds a game.

Peddy played six games this season for the Sparks, including five starts, before being waived July 2.

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Fever signed experienced guard Shey Peddy to a hardship contract following their release of Kyra Lambert five days into her seven-day contract.

The move comes after they announced Fever guard Sophie Cunningham suffered a season-ending knee injury Sunday afternoon in Connecticut. A league source confirmed to IndyStar that Cunningham suffered an MCL tear.
