TAMPA, Fla. (WWSB) - The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office’s Marine Enforcement Section were able to lend assistance to boaters who found themselves in a potentially dangerous situation recently.

A pontoon boat with six adults on board was stranded in the channel of Tampa Bay, drifting into the path of an outbound cruise ship.

The pontoon had a line wrapped around the propeller, keeping it from moving.

Deputies conducted an emergency tow and stayed until their boat was operable.
