SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, California (KOLO) - The City of South Lake Tahoe has begun issuing VHR permits in residential areas.
Permits began being issued under the amended VHR ordinances on July 17.
An initial 60-day VHR permit application period was opened on June 23 for preferred applicants who previously had permits that were not renewed in 2021 due to the passage of Measure T.
As of Aug. 19, the city says it has received 608 applications and has issued 66 permits. 293 applications were rejected for either a lack of eligibility for the preferred group or for being ineligible for permits at all.
Property owners not eligible for the preferred group can start submitting applications on Aug. 23 here .
