With the first week of school beginning today, several cities across the Ozarks are reminding drivers of the mandatory guidelines when they see a school bus on the road.
The Branson Police Department says you should: • Always stop for a bus with red or yellow lights flashing • Be aware of your surroundings and be cautious of students crossing the road. • If you see another driver passing a stopped bus or speeding in a school zone, please call 911 to alert law enforcement.
Additionally, BPD states parents should never send their children to the bus stop earlier than expected. If so, either wait with them or make sure a guardian is present.
