FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - An addiction recovery center in Fort Wayne that opened a food bank nearly four years ago as another service for families of the men in their program has extended its hours.
The Lighthouse Community Care Manager, Olivia Keim, says once people found out about a new food bank in town, the demand grew quickly.
Keim says that’s when The Lighthouse decided to open the food bank to anyone in 21Country who needs help.
“Our mission is to love people like Jesus, so we want everyone who comes here to experience the love of Christ and to leave feeling encouraged and with food.” Olivia Keim.
Tuesday, Keim announced that the food bank will be open three more days a week. Originally, the food bank was only operating Wednesdays and Fridays.
