PITTSBURGH (WTAJ) -- Cam Heyward's "hold-in" is officially over as the 36-year-old defensive lineman returned full-time to practice Tuesday ahead of the team's final preseason game.

Heyward, who was "holding-in" for the second straight year, said he was seeking fair value after an all pro season last year where he recorded 8 sacks. He is due to make nearly $15 million this season after signing a 2-year extension last year. Last week, he said sitting out into the season was an option for him.

"I think there definitely are options that could reflect that,” he said last Monday. “I understand I signed a contract last year, too, but to be completely honest with you, when I signed that, I told them, you know, when I have an All-Pro year, expecting me to come back.”
