Honolulu’s stay at the Little League Baseball World Series came to an end today.
Honolulu got decent pitching, but the hitting couldn’t come through in a 3-0 loss to South Carolina in Williamsport, Pa.
Bronson Fermahin, who worked the first 1 2/3 innings, and Logan Brokaw combined on a six-hitter with four walks and five strikeouts for Honolulu (West).
The best scoring opportunity for Honolulu (1-2) came in the bottom of the fifth when it loaded the bases with one out, but a nifty 4-6-3 double play ended the threat. That kept the score at 1-0 and South Carolina added a pair of runs in the top of the sixth inning.
Honolulu also stranded runners at first and second in the third.
South Carolina (Southeast) first scored on a bases-loaded walk in the second.
