Aug. 19 NJ Turnpike truck fire.

A crash and truck fire closed all northbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike Western Spur in Rutherford Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 19, the NJDOT website shows.

The incident occurred just south of Interchange 16W to NJ 3, according to a 3:34 p.m. traffic alert. All lanes were blocked as of press time, the alert said (have photos? email clevine@dailyvoice.com).

Initial reports indicate that the fire stemmed from a crash involving an ice cream truck and tractor tractor-trailer.
