NEWTON FALLS, Ohio - In Newton Falls, a routine post about bus routes ended up revealing more than the district intended.

As families in the village get ready for the new school year, they found far more than just bus routes published by the district in a public Facebook community group for Newton Falls.

A file was inadvertently uploaded with personal information for hundreds of students. It contained students' names, their addresses, parental phone numbers, and emergency contacts.

Superintendent Andreas Johansson downplayed the seriousness of the leak and insists no one's safety was compromised.

"There was no sensitive student data in there. As soon as we became aware that was publicly accessible, we removed that file," Johansson said.
