EL CAJON, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Authorities in El Cajon are still searching for answers regarding the case of an unidentified woman who was found dead nearly three decades ago. • Watch the video above by Nexstar Media Wire, which shows how DNA is used to solve cold cases.

According to the El Cajon Police Department, the woman's body was found in the brush near the 1300 block of Avocado Avenue on Aug. 13, 1998.

She was believed to be a white or Hispanic female in her 30s with brown hair, was around 5'2" and weighed about 110 pounds. Police added that she had signs of at least one prior pregnancy.
