A large fire broke out Tuesday afternoon at the Venezuelan Chemical Processing Company (Provequim), located in the Paraparal area of the Los Guayos municipality in Carabobo state.

The incident, which occurred at 2:00 p.m. and lasted more than two hours, generated a thick column of smoke that was visible in at least three municipalities of Carabobo (San Diego, Valencia, and San Joaquín).

Carabobo Firefighters, Valencia Firefighters, Los Guayos Firefighters, San Joaquín Firefighters, San Diego Firefighters, and various state security and rescue agencies attended the scene.

During the firefighting efforts, an officer from the Carabobo Integrated Civil Protection and Firefighting System, as well as two company employees, were injured with second-degree burns.
