Ken Jeong is about to add another title to his already impressive résumé.

The veteran actor, comedian, writer and producer, who got his start as a licensed physician, has been selected to receive a King of Comedy award from the 15th annual Catalina Film Festival. The prize will be doled out during the fest’s milestone anniversary and awards ceremony at the Avalon Theatre inside Catalino Casino on Catalina Island off the coast of Southern California on Sept. 27.

Presented by the Catalina Film Institute, the King of Comedy trophy is given to a performer “who has mastered the craft of comedy and uses it to uplift, inspire, and bring joy, celebrating comedic excellence and the power of laughter to connect us all.” Past fest honorees and guests include Nicolas Cage, Jon Favreau, Stan Lee, Ke
