TOWN OF LOWELL, Wis. — Railway tracks have reopened after crews completed initial cleanup of a Canadian Pacific train derailment in Dodge County last Friday.
The derailment happened between the village of Reeseville and the town of Lowell, involving approximately 30 of the train's 95 cars. The derailed cars were carrying crude oil, some of which spilled during the incident. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
Mitchell Lauersdorf, whose family excavation company assisted with cleanup efforts, was called in to help with the cleanup at 10 p.m. on Friday worked until 4:30 in the morning.
