PERRYVILLE, Mo. (KFVS) - Some southeast Missouri high school teachers now have more time to prepare for a new school year impacted by last spring’s tornado.

School leaders and teachers we talked with say delaying the start of school gives them enough time to get classrooms ready for the high school students.

“You know it takes more than just four walls, electricity, and Wi-Fi to have a school,” said Shadrick Shafer, Perryville High School principal.

That’s why Perryville High School teachers are getting three extra school days to move into their classrooms.

And Principal Shadrick Shafer is happy to lend a hand.
