A Poplar Grove man will not face charges in connection with a July shooting that left one man dead and another injured, the Arkansas State Police announced Tuesday.
First Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Todd Murray found that Decorick Farr, 41, was acting in self defense when he shot and killed William "Red" Henderson, 38, on July 5, State Police said in a news release.
The shooting occurred around 2:15 a.m. in the 300 block of Phillips County Road 113.
Henderson was pronounced dead at Helena Regional Medical Center.
Another man, a 47-year-old who was not identified in a police news release, was taken to an area hospital and was in stable condition following the incident.
Farr was initially arrested on a charge of first-degree murder.
