BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Tucked back on Lincoln Drive north of the Baton Rouge airport, Dionne Washington and her family feel safe.

“I have grandkids here that I’m raising,” said Washington.

They felt safe, that is, until 2:00 on Monday afternoon. Washington was cleaning her car and stepped inside for just a moment. Her keys were left in the car.

“I was in there five minutes,” recalled Washington. “I came back out and my car was gone.”

Security camera footage captured exactly what happened. A masked individual, appearing to be armed and draped in black clothing, walked across the street and hopped in Washington’s 2023 Cadillac. Moments later, it was gone. Washington filed a report with law enforcement afterwards.
