PORT ARTHUR, Texas — Port Arthur Memorial High School’s new principal says it’s a new day for the campus as she strictly enforces rules and works to improve academic performance.
Dr. Angel Murphy, who stepped into the role this school year, told 12News she is focused on raising the school’s Texas Education Agency rating and building a stronger learning environment. “We are building our leaders in order to build our teachers’ capacity,” Murphy said.
She explained that Memorial is partnering with Region 5 through the Texas Instructional Leadership program, which trains administrators to better support teachers. The goal, she said, is to ensure students receive the quality of education they deserve.
