Jacob deGrom will skip his next start, which was scheduled to be on Wednesday against the Kansas City Royals, according to Chris Young (via the beat guys). Per the beats, Young said that there was some shoulder fatigue, but there’s no structural issues, and this is mainly a load management issue.
This is a bit frustrating, no doubt, given where the Rangers are. There is a part of me that wants to say, there’s no point in saving deGrom for September and the playoffs if you’re out of the race by early September.
