FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - The Central California Food Bank is celebrating a milestone with its Groceries2go Expansion and South Canopy Enhancement project.

The project ensures neighbors in need have access to nutritious food, stored in a larger space. Groceries2go allows people to make an appointment, drive up and pick up food right in their car.

"Neighbors can register every 15 days to access the nutrition they need to thrive," CEO Kym Dildine said.

The Central California Food Bank program used to operate out of a small, donated shipping container.

Now enhancements made possible by AB129 include cold storage, freezer units, and sufficient work areas for staff and volunteers.
