Neve Campbell , who plays Sidney Prescott, signed on for the project earlier this year after skipping the sixth movie due to a dispute over her salary.

Kevin Williamson , who wrote the screenplay for the first Scream movie and later created the series The Vampire Diaries , is taking over directorial duties for the next movie.

The cast for the movie has gone through some major changes due to some behind-the-scenes drama involving the studio and some actors. While some fan-favorites will return, others are not coming back. Plenty of new faces are being added!

Scream 7 will be released in theaters on February 27, 2026.
