WACO, Texas (KWTX) - I-35 could see increased traffic with the start of Baylor University’s schoolyear due to My35 project construction.

Mclane Stadium sits off the interstate. Lori Fogleman with Baylor public relations said people should expect interstate traffic on game days.

“I think it’s incumbent upon everybody to leave early,” Fogleman said. “You really do need to plan.”

TxDOT public information officer Jake Smith said to expect newer drivers on the road.

“There are gonna be some newcomers that may not know that this project is here,” Smith said. “So, they’re going to have to adjust on the fly.”

Incoming Baylor sophomore, Kienan McAlister, noticed the traffic when he moved into his off-campus housing.
