COLUMBUS, Ohio -School districts, charter schools, nonprofits and educational organizations across Ohio are set to receive approximately $169.8 million to bolster teacher training and student enrichment programs, with the largest amounts targeting major urban districts.
The funding, temporarily withheld by the Trump administration, has been released to states nationwide. The federal education dollars will support initiatives such as professional development for teachers, English-language instruction for migrant students, and academically focused after-school programs.
The federal government has transferred nearly all of the allocated funds to DEW, with the exception of $59.6 million from one grant program that is scheduled for delivery on Oct. 1, DEW spokeswoman Lacey Snoke said. An
