Of course, it was against the Rockies, who – even with the altitude in their home games – rank 29th in the majors for runs per game, at a feeble 3.78. Take them out of Denver, and the Rockies become dead last, with a startling 2.62. They’re on pace to score just 213 runs on the road, which in the live-ball era would be ahead just of the 1972 Indians: they scored 209, but only played 79 away. Which is a long way of not putting too much stock in E-Rod’s last outing.
