BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – You might call it the long goodbye. Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace held another farewell event of sorts Tuesday morning...a clearance sale of merchandise that was supposed to last three days but instead seems to have lasted barely half a day.

A nostalgic crowd of perhaps 500 moved across the landmark’s wooden sidewalk throughout the mid-morning and practically cleared the place out.

There was an air of somber finality to the big sale. Buck Owens merchandise including T-shirts and guitars were going out the door and they were going fast – if you had the patience to wait in line for three hours.

Well, somewhat less than that if you were as fortunate as our crew, which waited about two-and-a-half hours.
