MIAMI -- Thomas Saggese had three hits and drove in a run as the Cardinals beat the Marlins, 7-4 , on Tuesday night at loanDepot park.
Iván Herrera went 2-for-5 with three RBIs, while Willson Contreras singled twice for St. Louis (63-64), which has won the first two in Miami after a five-game losing skid.
Cardinals starter Michael McGreevy allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits over six innings to record the win. McGreevy (5-2) struck out five and hit a batter in his fourth consecutive outing of exactly six innings.
The Cardinals scored quickly against Marlins starter Edward Cabrera when Herrera hit a run-scoring single in the first. Herrera then increased the lead with a two-run single in the second.
