ASHBURN, Va. (DC News Now) — A group of Loudoun Valley Estates homeowners is fighting a proposed Dominion Energy project they say would place a massive transmission line directly behind their homes.

Dominion says the project is about the need to address energy constraints in what’s known as Data Center Alley. The company says it has already completed public meetings and developed a plan to build what it calls a bulk electricity loop, which would connect to multiple substations.

Part of that plan, called the “Golden to Mars” project, would include only transmission lines. Originally, the proposed routes did not include the Loudoun Valley Estates neighborhood.
