EVANSVILLE, In. (WEHT) – The University of Evansville women's soccer forward, Taylor Johnson was named the first Missouri Valley Conference player of the week.

In the Purple Aces' season opener against Southeast Missouri State, the Reitz grad recorded an assist and the game winning goal to take down the Redhawks 4-3 last Thursday.

"It feels really good cause last year I knew I was capable of everything i just showcased in that first game," Johnson said. "I just, I guess I didn't have the confidence on the field yet and that was brought out in the spring and then has continued on to our preseason and these fall practices."
