KILGORE, Texas — For some Kilgore residents, turning on the tap means more than just water, it leads to rust, stained clothes and rising bills. Alexandria Bassett, a Kilgore resident, says the ongoing issue has become a daily struggle, and she believes it is even causing health problems.

"It makes it harder on us to get things done around the house, take care of our kids, take care of the household when everything is falling apart and breaking because of the quality of water," Bassett said.

She says she’s not alone, neighbors are also reporting health concerns linked to the water’s poor quality.

"After living the way we've been living like this, it's time to start fighting back," she said. "It's time to start taking action on this."
