BEAUMONT, Texas — Crimes against children are leaving lasting impacts in Southeast Texas, but nonprofit organizations and law enforcement groups are stepping in to help victims and pursue suspects.
Edward Hoffman of Vidor is in the Montgomery County Jail facing charges related to child sex crimes. Investigators said both of his alleged victims are under 7-years-old. An arrest affidavit obtained by 12News accuses Hoffman of sending child sexual abuse material (CSAM) to an undercover Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office detective in June. Police traced his digital footprint back to Orange County, where he was arrested by Orange police the same day.
“From my understanding, there was an investigation happening and he sent CSAM to somebody who is an undercover law enforcement and he didn’t real
