CHICAGO – The Milwaukee Brewers love what Shelby Miller brings to their bullpen.
Miller, the veteran right-hander, is healthy once again and receiving opportunities.
But the comfort level? That might take a little bit yet.
After pitching in high-leverage situations for the Arizona Diamondbacks prior to being traded over to the Brewers on July 31, Miller now finds himself more in a "get-in-where-you-fit-in" situation on a Milwaukee team with a clearly established back end of its bullpen.
"He doesn’t know exactly what his role is right now and it’s hard for him," manager Pat Murphy said Tuesday following Miller's fifth appearance – one in which he flashed both good and bad in the sixth inning of an eventual 6-4 loss to the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field.
