SCRANTON, Pa. — These seven abandoned and dilapidated buildings are now in the process of being demolished by the city of Scranton . It's a city initiative using federal grants to remove blight in neighborhoods.
"Look at it, do I deserve to live near that?" is the question Barbara Petroski has had about the abandoned house on Gibbons Street for years.
"If you park over there, you can't even walk on the sidewalk; it's terrible, terrible,” said Petroski.
"It just deteriorates our entire neighborhood, because we have a nice neighborhood there, we have wonderful people here,” said Anne Harrington, who lives just a few houses away from Petroski.
Some folks on Clearview Street feel the same about the neglected house in their community.
