LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

Givaudan is moving ahead with plans to demolish its plant in Clifton after a deadly explosion last year.

The company announced Tuesday Hayden Wrecking has been chosen to manage the demolition.

Officials said they planned to submit a demolition permit soon.

Once that's approved, a start date will be decided, which will likely be in the next few weeks.

They expect it to take about 40 days.

Two people died in the explosion in November 2024.

A report revealed it was caused by a pressure batch reactor exceeding safe limits and rupturing.
