When I was a wee lad, one of my favorite toys disappeared from our front yard. We lived on a side road in a small town and might see 15 cars pass our house during a long summer day. I was convinced that a boy a few years older than me had availed himself of it as he walked by on one of his several trips by our house each day.

I expressed to my grandfather my desire to visit his house and forcibly retrieve my property. My grandfather was a large and very powerful man, and I was attempting to talk him into going with me.
