Roswell Police have arrested a man for allegedly beating, shooting, tasing and spraying acid in the face of his girlfriend.

A press release issued Monday by the Roswell Police Department indicated that Steven Rainer, 42, of Roswell, was detained at about 8:50 a.m. when police arrived at his home in the 2300 block of West Alameda Street. Officers were dispatched to the residence in response to a call from a 33-year-old woman, later identified as Rainer's girlfriend.

Police later learned during their investigation that the woman was shot once in the leg, had been tased four times, beaten and had been sprayed with an acidic substance, according to a criminal complaint filed Tuesday in Chaves County Magistrate Court. Rainer was subsequently booked at the Chaves County Detention Center (CCDC)
