This story is from an annual inspirational book I’ve written for since the 1980s. It used to be called "Daily Guideposts" but is now "Walking in Grace." I’m not sure I’ve ever read such an endearing account between a grandfather and grandson.

The author, Brock Kidd, shares a memory from his boyhood. He was so excited for his grandpa to show up that night because he had something “exciting” to share with him.

“Pa! I saw the most gigantic-ist dandelion when Mom was driving me home from school today!”

His grandfather laughed his deep, barrel laugh and said, “I would've liked to see that, lad.”

The next day, he and his Pa watched morning cartoons. When he went to the kitchen a while later, his grandpa was drinking a cup of coffee — and in a vase was the “gigantic-ist” dandelion. Brock said
