Airbus workers at Filton to take part in strikes amid pay dispute

Thousands of workers at aircraft manufacturer Airbus are to stage a series of strikes next month in a dispute over pay. Unite union members based at Filton and based at Broughton in North Wales will put down their tools, with the union warning the strikes will hit production of wings for Airbus's commercial and military aircraft programmes.

Unite said around 3,000 of its members will walk out for 10 days in September after they voted overwhelmingly in favour of industrial action. These highly specialised workers perform essential functions in manufacturing wings for the tremendously popular A320 series, A330, A350 and A400M military transport aircraft.
