COLUMBUS - The Brenham Cubettes (6-5) took a tough five-set loss to Columbus on Tuesday night (23-25, 25-20, 23-25, 25-20, 12-15), snapping a three-game win streak.

After trading sets throughout the first four sets, Brenham got off to a strong 6-0 start in the fifth set. Senior Antyiahna Lang and sophomore Hannah Bush combined for three kills and a solo block during the set-opening run.

Columbus slowly got back in the fifth set until it raced out to an 11-9 lead thanks to a seven-point run. Three quality serves, including two aces, powered the run.

Brenham tied the set at 12-12 thanks to one of nine kills from Brooklynn Stolz, who returned to action Tuesday from injury. However, a Brenham net violation and back-to-back Columbus kills sealed the match.
