Carson City’s Open Space Advisory Committee on Monday supported two projects — a trail and outdoor classroom — that city leaders argued have regional appeal.
With Mary Berge absent, OSAC members voted unanimously to recommend to the Board of Supervisors grant applications for the Centennial Regional Trails Project (phase I) and the Ambrose Carson River Outdoor Classroom and Trailhead Project.
For the Centennial project, the city is seeking $79,000 from the Recreational Trails Program administered by the Nevada Division of State Parks. A 20 percent grant match of $19,750 would come from Quality-of-Life funding for a total estimated project cost of $98,750.
