An Aberdeen MSP has joined calls for urgent action to be taken to ensure students from Gaza can take up their university places in Scotland.
Aberdeen South and North Kincardine’s MSP Audrey Nicoll has echoed the demands made to the UK government by John Swinney at the weekend.
The First Minister urged Westminster to “do everything in its power” to support Palestinian students. Other European countries, including France, Ireland and Italy, have already evacuated students to safety.
The University of Glasgow has also stepped in to waive tuition fees for another Gazan student, but Ms Nicoll said UK government action is still needed to facilitate evacuation and safe passage.
