The Knock Out rose is likely the most planted rose in southeast Louisiana landscapes. Since its introduction in 2000, the Knock Out rose has ushered in a whole new way to look at roses and use them in our landscapes.

Its characteristics are well documented — excellent disease resistance, more frequent reblooming, showy clusters of single, cherry-red flowers (there are also dark pink, light pink, yellow, orange, white, red and double Knock Out varieties), dark green attractive foliage and a shrubby growth habit that works well in the landscape.

Because of their easier care and attractive growth habit, Knock Out roses, along with other landscape roses (like the smaller growing Drift roses), tend to be used in landscape plantings like any other shrub rather than isolated in special rose gar
