SEATTLE Mariners outfielder Victor Robles has been given a lengthy suspension by MLB after throwing his bat at an opponent during a game.

The 28-year-old was playing for one of the MLB team's minor league teams and performed the fiery action.

Robles was playing for the Triple-A Tacoma as they were taking on the Las Vegas Aviators on Sunday.

During the third inning, he was hit by a fastball pitch from starting pitcher Joey Estes.

After taking some steps behind the plate and dropping his bat, Robles picked up the bat and threw it in Estes' direction .

The Mariners player was immediately ejected from the game and had to be restrained by teammates.

On Tuesday, the MLB announced that Robles received a 10-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for his actions.
