In a viral video, a dog owner from Indiana can be seen brushing his golden retriever's fur on the balcony when an unusual guest makes a quick appearance.

Shared in April under the username @benshrack, the Instagram clip shows the poster throwing some of his dog's fur off the balcony, only to be immediately picked up by a bird, probably gathering materials to build its nest. "In case you didn't believe how quickly the birds will randomly show up for his fur," the poster writes in the caption.

Birds build nests not to live in them, but to make a safe environment for laying eggs, incubating them, and raising their chicks, says the Natural History Museum.
