Representatives with Naperville Unit Education Association and Naperville School District 203 met with a mediator Tuesday to continue contract negotiations, but did not reach a deal, officials for both sides said.

Ross Berkley, president of the NUEA, said in a statement that there was meaningful discussions and positive steps forward.

“While we are not finished, we are hopeful we can reach an agreement that puts our students first and is equitable for all educators,” his statement released Tuesday night said. “This community deserves stability in our schools. We are cautiously optimistic that with continued collaboration we can finalize a fair contract that values our educators and supports our students.”
