The North Lawrence Fire Department has been told by the Ohio attorney general to utilize paper tickets for fundraising raffles.

As a result, the fire agency has paused its online ticket raffles a few days ago.

Some items raffled over the last year include a new house, pickup trucks, fire pits, lawnmowers and vacations.

LAWRENCE TWP. – The North Lawrence Fire Department has temporarily halted its popular online fundraising raffles to follow a new directive from the Ohio Attorney General's Office.

Since September 2024, the agency has been purchasing goods — including high-priced items like vacations and vehicles — at cost and selling virtual tickets through an ecommerce website . Live drawings are held each week via Facebook.
