Helen Mirren says she doesn't like to be patronized.
In an interview with People , the Academy Award winning actor, 80, revealed the two phrases that she doesn't like people saying to her as an older woman.
“One thing that I find galling as I get older is the sort of patronizing condescension: ‘Oh, that’s so sweet ,’” she said. “I hate the word feisty. I’m alive. Don’t give me those sort of awful labels.”
Mirren said that she's also not a fan of people saying she has a "young spirit." Recalling a time an interviewer told her just that, Mirren joked that she responded, "F--k off."
But she then corrected the record, noting that she actually replied, "My spirit is the age that I am."
