I think Cleveland Browns fans know that the team’s 2-0 record in the preseason doesn’t mean a while lot — after all, the Panthers were also one of the league’s worst teams a year ago, and the Eagles didn’t play their starters. With that said, there seems to be a little more optimism as the start of the regular season approaches for a few reasons: • Veteran QB Joe Flacco has been named the team’s starter, giving some early clarity to the position after what has been a solid camp for him. He went 4-1 in 5 starts in 2023, are we to believe that he can’t lead the team to 4 wins over the stretch of an entire season, for example? • The Browns’ defense has shown a lot of promise — could they get right back to 2023 when they were, at times, one of the most dominant defenses in NFL history? •
