Darren Morris was silent, staring out into the distance while seated in the bleachers of A.W. Mumford Stadium.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound wide receiver for Southern football crouched forward in thought for a few seconds, showing a side of himself that’s counter to the exuberance that people usually associate with him.
“D-Mo” would breakdance at his grandmother’s house on Christmas as a kid and is still a lively personality on the team. However, the 21-year-old was motionless in contemplation, searching his mind and heart to describe his underwhelming 2024 season, despite leading the team in catches and receiving yards.
“Last year, I didn't show my full potential, I didn't show what I can do,” Morris told The Advocate. “I feel like the coaches didn't trust me anymore. I feel like I was s
